Mike Wood is a landscape architect, environmental scientist and golf course architect. He has more than 25 years of professional experience in the public and private sector, during which time he has compiled a substantial portfolio of project work covering environmental design, planning and impact assessment.
Mike served as Chair of the Environment Committee of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects from 2005 - 2011. Between 2000 and 2005, he set-up and successfully ran the world's first dedicated academic programme in golf course architecture, the MSc at Edinburgh College of Art.
Mike has been responsible for several pioneering best practice guidance publications relating to golf development. He has contributed significantly to core GEO programme content including the key role as Lead Consultant for Legacy Guidance. Mike’s advisory portfolio includes new development projects at Loch Lomond in Scotland, St Kitts in the Caribbean, and the Algarve in Portugal.
