Can my new golf facility be GEO Certified on launch?
Yes, it is possible for your facility to be fully GEO Certified on opening. However, we do not encourage pre-opened facilities to rush into making certification applications.
Any such applications will be handled very carefully, with verifiers expecting to see a thorough and well detailed forward Environmental Management Plan for the facility. This official plan must clearly set out environmental aims and policies, and contain an action plan that demonstrates what activities are going to be undertaken, when and by whom.
As a new facility, it is also expected that your infrastructure for water and energy efficiency, for pollution prevention and for waste separation will be fully in place and of a particularly high standard. In this way, verifiers will pick up on many of the legacies from the project's planning, design and construction phases.
