Golf Is Arenas is located inside an artificial pine forest of Pinus pinea over 800 hectares. The pine forest of Is Arenas was implanted by Sardinia Region in the early 50's to counter the advance of the sands that formed one of the largest desert in Europe.
Currently in the pine woods are reaffirming the species of trees and shrubs typical of the area such as junipers, pistacia, philliree, tamarisk, bulrush, large fennel and wild species of cyst forming beautiful floral spots during the spring and summer. Presence of golf also determines the steady growth of animals (those surveyed are currently 94) among which stand out the dove, the rare woodpecker Sardinian and two species of turtles.
Il golf di Is Arenas si trova all'interno di una pineta artificiale di pinus pinea di oltre 800 ettari di superficie. La pineta di Is Arenas è stata impiantata dalla Regione Sardegna nei primi anni 50 per contrastare l'avanzata delle sabbie che formavano uno dei deserti più grandi d'europa.
Attualmente all'interno della pineta si stanno riaffermando le specie arboree ed arbustive tipiche della zona quali ginepri, lentischi, philliree, tamerici, giunchi, grandi finocchi selvatici e diverse specie di cisti che formano magnifiche macchie fiorite durante la primavera e l'estate.La presenza del golf determina anche il costante aumento delle specie animali (attualmente quelle censite sono 94) tra le quali spiccano la tortora, il rarissimo picchio sardo e due specie di tartarughe terrestri

Around Is Arenas Golf are lot of great historical sites and cultural heritage. It should be noted especially the ruins of the Punic Phoenician city "Tharros", the area of early Christian Cornus and several "Nuraghi" (tipical old Sardinian building) surrounding Is Arenas. Along the coast there are many watchtowers dating from Saracen. Of great interest is also the village of San Salvatore with the tomb which is located inside the San Giovanni church.

Si segnala soprattutto le rovine della città punico fenia di Tharros, l'area paleocristiana di Cornus e numerosi nuraghi che circondano Is Arenas. Lungo la costa troviamo numerose torri di avvistamento che risalgono al periodo saraceno. Di grande interesse anche il villaggio di San Salvatore con l'ipogeo che si trova all'interno della chiesa di San Giovanni.

Water used for irrigation is drawn from underground through wells and is conveyed in a lake. From the lake, with computerized systems is pumping within the irrigation system. Further water quantity came from the depurator.

The Is Arenas Golf Course lie on a 150 ha green surface.
The surface interested by seeded grasses is about 30 ha and is branched like follows:

Il golf di Is Arenas si estende su un area di circa 150 ettari.
L'area inerbita è circa 30 ettari suddivisa tra 1.5 ettari di green, 1.5 ettari di tees, 12.5 ettari di fairways e 16 ettari circa di rough.
I green sono stati realizzati con agrostis L93, Tees e fairways sono in bermudagrass e i rough sono invece in festuca arundinacea.
