Nacka Golfklubb with its 18 holes is situated in two municipalities, Nacka and Värmdö, and in one of the ten green wedges of Stockholm. The entire area is part of the inner archipelago which has risen from the sea for the last 12 000 years due to the latest ice-age. A large part of the course is situated in a nature reserve and the undulated woods with grassy valleys in between make it very interesting and beautiful with several rare and endangered species and fascinating nature.

Landscape & Ecosystems
Nacka Golfklubb was formed in 1989, but it was only six years later the first nine holes were completed. It took many long negotiations with both Nacka and Värmdö municipalities and other bodies, before all the formalities were in place. In 1997, we were able to inaugurate the complete 18-hole course.
The course that spans two communes is a nature reserve. It allows large considerations must be taken of the nature and animal life in the construction of the first holes; that is why no sand bunkers have been constructed and large trees, which stands in the middle of the fairway at some of the holes, not been felled. But the course is being developed and improved. Great care has been done to protect the essential elements of the old cultural environment and make it possible to continue to wander and enjoy the forests and meadows, 100-year-old croft places and gardens, plant and animal life. Previously it partially been cultivated for agriculture. It is a mixture of deciduous and coniferous trees. There are a number of ponds.

Nacka golfklubb bildades redan 1989 men det var först sex år senare som de första nio hålen stod klara. Det krävdes många och långa förhandlingar med både Nacka och Värmdö kommuner och andra instanser, innan alla formalia var på plats. 1997 kunde vi inviga den kompletta 18-hålsbanan.
Banan som sträcker sig över två kommuner går över ett naturreservat. Det gör att stor hänsyn måste tas till natur och djurliv vid anläggningen av banans första del. Det är därför som inga sandbunkrar fått anläggas och stora träd, som står mitt i fairway på några av hålen, inte fått fällas. Men banan utvecklas och förbättras efterhand. Stor omsorg har lagts ned för att skydda väsentliga delar av den gamla kulturmiljön och göra det möjligt att även i fortsättningen kunna vandra omkring och njuta av skog och ängar, 100-åriga torpställen och trädgårdar, växt- och djurliv. Tidigare har det delvis varit odlingsmark för jordbruk. Det är en blandning av löv-och barrträd. Det finns ett antal dammar.

Water
The Golf Club takes water from seven sources. Three of these sources are private wells supplying water to the clubs buildings. One of these sources provides the clubhouse, another one the workshop and the cottages Klastorp and Nilstorp and finally one that provides the machine wash facility inside the maintenance area.
The other sources supply the golf course's irrigation system. The irrigation system takes water from a main pond, which provides hole one through tee on hole thirteen. Main pond then supplies a second irrigation pond with water. This pond then provides the remaining holes and practice area and ball machines with water.
Aside from the natural inflow to the irrigation ponds water is pumped up to these ponds as water permits from the lake Insjön and also from the lake Kovikträsk. With regard to irrigation strategies can be said that we add water after the weather conditions and that we make daily assessments of the surfaces to be watered and how much.

Golfklubben tar för sin verksamhet vatten från sju källor. Tre av dessa källor är enskilda brunnar som levererar vatten till klubbens byggnader. En källa förser klubbhuset, en verkstaden samt torpen Klastorp och Nilstorp och slutligen en som förser spolplattan inne på verkstadsområdet.

Bortsett från den naturliga tillrinningen till dessa bevattningsdammar pumpas vatten upp till dessa dammar enligt vattendomar dels från Insjön och dels från Koviksträsk. Vad gäller bevattningsstrategier kan sägas att vi tillför vatten efter väderleksförhållandena och att vi dagligen gör bedömningar över vilka ytor som skall vattnas och hur mycket.

Energy & Resources
Heating:
Our clubhouse and restaurant have WB underfloor heating. Heating with electric boiler. In the business part is recycling of air. The restaurant uses only occasionally when the course is closed. Ventilation is turned off
Dressing room has floor heating and direct-action electricity. Changing rooms has a temp 10 ° when the course is closed.
Mechanical part and engineering offices have air-air heat pump. Mechanical part is completed with the construction fan cold days. The workshop uses recycled air. Machine Hall is heated with building fan. Temp 7 °-10 °. The old houses have direct acting electricity, and are turned off when the course is closed
Garage for golf cars and bag stores have direct acting electricity. Temp is reduced to 10 °. We use diesel for our machines and certain vehicles. Golf carts are electrically powered. Some hand tools and some lawn mowers is powered by petrol.
We will most likely, when the economy allowes, install either rock heat pump or air-heat pump to the restaurant. More Air heat pumps can probably be installed in the workshop

Garage för golfbilar och bag förråd har direktverkande el. Temp är nedsatt till 10°. Vi använder diesel till våra maskiner och vissa fordon. Golfbilar är eldrivna. Vissa handredskap och vissa gräsklippare drivs med bensin.
Vi kommer troligtvis, då ekonomin tillåter, installera antingen bergvärmepump eller luft-vattenpump på restaurangdelen. Ev kan fler Air Conditioner installeras på verkstaden.

Vi har under mars 2010 haft en Miljöinformation för c:a 60 veteraner. |

Products & Supply Chains
We have asked our major suppliers via letter or their website on their environmental activities. Where practicable, we choose local suppliers. The very most of what we buy is for permanent use and produces no waste. Waste is usually used spare parts, oils, packaging and luminaries. Fertilizer for Greens purchased in bulk for a m2, other fattening in the form of granules or dunk. There is a system for the return of containers intended for fattening and cartridges for printers.

People & Communities
The golf course is situated in two municipalities, of which part in Nacka is natural res heritage. Agreement on how the course and the surrounding area should be dealt with. Cooperation is also between different interest groups existing historic places, and events and ornithologists. The area is popular with mushroom and Berry chips. The winters there are snow are arranged very fine cross-country skiing around the track. Including organised DM on skis in the Stockholm area 2010 with approx. 900 participants.
The golf course is well-liked by green fee guests, which appeared in 2010 when the Club was one of the few clubs in Stockholm with increased number of visitors compared to the previous year. Number of members increased by 140 st.

Golfbanan är belägen i två kommuner, varav delen i Nacka Kommun är naturresarvet. Avtal om hur banan och närområdet skall skötas finns. Samarbete finns även mellan olika intresseföreningar gällande historiska platser och händelser samt ornitologer. Närområdet är populära svamp- och bärmarker. De vintrar det finns snö ordnas mycket fina skidspår runt banan. BL.a. anordnades DM på skidor för Stockholmsområdet 2010 med c:a 900 deltagare.

Roads and trails are maintained and are available to the public. The surrounding area is popular berries and mushrooms. Spring and autumn are organized organized Nordic walking along the course.
