Expertise
Erich Steiner MSc, Landscape Architect BSLA, studied landscape architecture at the Technical School HSR Rapperswil and holds an Msc in Sports Surface Technology from Cranfield University in England. He has over 15 years of practical experience in landscape and golf architecture in the U.A.E., Ireland and Switzerland.
Since 2004 he has been director of Steiner & Partner Landschaftsarchitektur, a landscape architecture firm specialising in golf and environment consulting. Special areas of expertise include golf and environment planning, turf grass science and sport field assessment, sustainable golf design, natural drainage systems and affordable golf course planning.
Environmental delegate for the Swiss Golf Association and European Golf Association, for four years Erich served on the Golf Course Committee of The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. He is also the education delegate for the SGA (Swiss Greenkeepers Association) and project leader and chair of the working group for the new Sport Grass Specialist / Head Greenkeeper programme in Switzerland.
Erich has been an instructor at the Technical College Wädenswil and an instructor in turf grass science for the Swiss PGA. He has been involved in over 100 different golf projects in the last 15 years in Switzerland, Europe, the Middle East and elsewhere in the world.
