A graduate of the University of Perugia (Italy) in Crop's Science and Tecnology, Paolo trained at Texas A&M University (USA) under the world renowned Professor James B. Beard. He has been Director of the Italian Golf Federation Green Section for 17 years and a teacher at the National School of Golf.

In 1994 Paolo became one of the first members of the European Golf Association's Ecology Unit, subsequently the Committed to Green Foundation. He has been working with the Golf Environment Organization since its foundation.

Over the last 30 years Paolo has worked with hundreds of Golf Courses in Italy, Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Isle of Mauritius, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, and the USA. More recently he has been undertaking Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental strategies for both private or public clients.

Paolo collaborates with University of Pisa (Italy) and its Ce.R.T.E.S. (Sport Turfgrasses Research Center) where he is involved in turf researches, particularly on warm-season grasses. He is co author of ”Tappeti Erbosi” the only book on turf grasses in the Italian language. He played Golf at the level of the Italian National Junior Team.
